OMNI Skills Training | Fall/Winter
OST
Extra reps. More time on the details.
Five sessions to work on your individual skills and head into tournament season with more confidence.
Extra work.
Limited spots.
Team practice is where you put your game together. OST is where you spend more time on the skills your team needs from you.
OMNI Skills Training gives current OMNI girls athletes five dedicated sessions with our coaches to work on setting, middle training or serving and passing. You’ll stay with one training group, get consistent feedback and have time to work through the details that are harder to slow down for during team practice.
Come ready to work, ask questions and use what you learn when you return to your team. These are the reps that help you become a player your teammates can count on.
Three groups.
Time to get better.
Team practices cover a lot. OST gives you extra time to work on technique, get feedback and put it into practice.

Setters
Coach Lauren will spend time on footwork, getting balanced and making consistent contact so hitters know what to expect from you.
We’ll work on location, connecting with different hitters and setting when the pass takes you off the net. Setters will practice getting their feet to the ball, finding a balanced position and delivering sets that hitters can approach with confidence.
The goal is to help setters become a steady presence their teammates can trust. Before tournament play, we’ll focus on making those skills more consistent, knowing when to keep the set simple and communicating clearly so everyone knows their job. Whether the pass is on the net or pulls you away, we want setters to make a good decision and give their hitter a ball they can use.

Middles
Coach Devin will work with athletes on transitioning, jumping and blocking, with an emphasis on becoming the leader of the block. We’ll work on reading the play, moving along the net, closing to your pins and getting your hands across. Middles will also practice communicating with their blockers and helping organize the defense behind them.
We’ll spend less time on hitting in this series and more time on the other parts of being a great middle. That includes getting off the net and being ready for the next play, plus serving and back-row defense for middles who stay in to serve. The goal is to help athletes become dependable middles who can lead at the net and contribute from the service line and the back row.

Serve & Pass
Serving and passing set the tone for every match. For pin hitters, liberos and defensive specialists, that’s our focus as the season begins.
A tough serve puts opponents under pressure, and a controlled pass gives your team more attacking options. This group focuses on serving and passing rather than hitting technique.
Coach Jane and Coach Rick will work on serving consistently, controlling your platform, moving to the ball and communicating in serve receive. Coach Jane will also teach serve & pass techniques used by the Stanford volleyball program, breaking them down so athletes can understand and practice them.
